Job summary

Aldwark Manor Estate is seeking a Commis Chef to support senior kitchen staff with food preparation and service in a luxury countryside hotel between York and Harrogate. The role is based at Aldwark Manor Estate, Nr Alne, with a 40-hour week and a focus on learning and development within a busy kitchen environment.

• A Commis Chef is responsible for assisting other kitchen staff.
• Their primary duties include food preparation, serving customers, cleaning the kitchen, & equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the senior chefs in the kitchen with the preparation of food, cleaning tasks.
• Maintaining a clean section
• Managing stock levels on the section.
• Assisting with food service and the close down at the end of your shift.
• Occasionally supporting the Kitchen Porters with their duties
• Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers
• Learning and Development, following instructions from the senior chefs

Aldwark Manor Estate is a privately owned Hotel with Golf nestled in a picturesque village between York and Harrogate. Set in 200 acres of beautiful countryside, this luxury Hotel provides a complete escape for both business and leisure guests and is a popular venue for weddings.

In recent years, the hotel has undergone significant investment and renovation, transforming the bedrooms, restaurant, residents’ lounge, sports bar and all public areas to deliver a refined and contemporary guest experience.
