What You’ll Do:

  1. Assist the Head Chef in the preparation, delivery, and presentation of all Food and Beverage to provide the highest level of client service within budget.

Food Preparation

  1. Ensure prompt service of all meals and services at the required times to the company’s standards and delegate satisfaction.
  2. Under the instruction of the Head Chef, be responsible for the preparation and presentation of food needed for consumption in the restaurant, and be available at service periods.
  3. Ensure that methods of preparation and presentation comply with current recognized catering standards under the guidance of the Head Chef.
  4. Prepare and assist at special functions which may fall outside normal working hours.

Operational and Customer Service

  1. Attend daily menu briefings.
  2. Respond promptly to client requests and comments, reporting to the head chef.
  3. Assist the head chef with serving on hot counters to ensure catering standards are met and are running in accordance with the booking schedule and all client requirements are exceeded.
  4. Work alongside the front of house team to ensure effective stock rotation within the department.
  5. Accurately record wastage and take appropriate steps to minimize wastage under the guidance of the head chef.

Health & Safety

  1. Adhere to all venues and statutory regulations related to health, safety, and fire at all times.
  2. Maintain personal, general cleanliness, and hygiene standards in compliance with Convene and statutory regulations.
  3. Wear the correct dress or uniform at all times.
  4. Follow company and statutory regulations regarding safety and hygiene of the kitchen and ancillary areas.
  5. Report defective and hazardous equipment immediately.
  6. Ensure stores and other areas of potential loss are secured at all times.
  7. Report any loss immediately to the General Manager.
  8. Adhere to all COSHH and HACCP regulations at all times.

Other responsibilities

  1. Carry out any reasonable management requests, including duties normally undertaken by the Chef de Partie in their absence.
  2. Build good working relationships with all other areas of the venue team.
  3. Support the venue team, including assisting with client events outside normal working hours and on weekends.
