Join Hyatt as a Commis Chef – Cantonese Cuisine

Yú Gé, a high-end Cantonese restaurant within the luxurious Park Hyatt London River Thames, is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to support our culinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn and grow in a prestigious environment.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Learning and practicing various cooking methods under the supervision of senior chefs.
  2. Preparing mise en place and assisting in service for the Cantonese Kitchen.
  3. Performing tasks as directed by senior chefs, such as Sous Chef or Chef de Partie, to aid in meal preparation.
  4. Cleaning and sanitising kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment regularly.
  5. Receiving, checking, and storing deliveries of fresh food and supplies.
  6. Gaining comprehensive knowledge by observing and participating in different kitchen sections.
  7. Assisting Head and Sous Chefs with other outlets when needed.
  8. Maintaining knowledge of food trends, safety standards, and cooking techniques.
  9. Working with urgency, good work ethics, and punctuality.

About you:

You are passionate about culinary operations, eager to learn, and supportive of your team. You have foundational food preparation skills and are committed to food safety and hygiene standards. Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is preferred but not mandatory.
