Job description

The Peninsula London is pleased to announce that we are seeking a Commis Chef for our Cantonese Restaurant. This position will have a great passion for quality Asian food and ingredients and being able to work flexibly within a kitchen brigade.

On the ground floor, Canton Blue, the hotel’s innovative Chinese restaurant, will celebrate the spice-trade union of Asian and British cultures with menus of creative dishes by Chef Dicky To, along with cocktails, and artisanal teas.

Key Accountabilities

  • Working within a team to deliver quality food with the best ingredients, following the menu guidelines but also able to be flexible with guest requests.
  • On occasion may be required to work within our areas of the kitchen and with other menu’s and teams.
  • Working within a team to support the overall service.

General Requirements

  • Good knowledge of food and ingredients with a passion to contribute and learn more within the kitchen/cookery environment.
  • 5* Hotel or fine dining experience preferred.
  • Friendly and positive with a flexible approach and an appetite to learn.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
