Job Description

As a Commis Chef, you will have a passion for delivering exceptional food to our guests. You will develop your skills across all areas of the kitchen, from food preparation to cooking and presenting. With a desire to learn, you will work closely with all members of the kitchen team to execute all menu items to a high standard and maintain cleanliness at all times.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety laws and procedures.
  • Understand and implement the safer food better business protocols and HACCP policies, including food labelling, cleaning schedules, and allergen tracking.
  • Food Preparation: preparing fresh ingredients for menu items, including fruits, vegetables, stocks, etc., using correct techniques to minimize wastage.
  • Accept deliveries and ensure stock is stored correctly and rotated properly. Label produce and remove items in line with use-by and best-before dates. Work as a team to complete opening and closing cleaning tasks to a high standard. Assist or work as a Kitchen Porter as required.
  • Ensure proper presentation of menu items.
  • Learn dish specifications, present starters, desserts, and side orders under the supervision of the lead chef.
Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential.

• Ability to follow directions.
• Organizational skills to manage your own time.
This is a casual hours position involving shifts from 06:00 to 23:00, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Hours may vary week to week with no guaranteed hours.
