Join a leading provider of luxury elderly care homes as a Commis Chef. You will assist in preparing meals and managing catering services while demonstrating compassion and commitment to providing high-quality culinary services. Ideal candidates will hold relevant qualifications and have at least one year of catering experience.
This is a Commis Chef role at Avery Healthcare, a leading provider of luxury elderly care homes in the UK. The role involves assisting the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks, while supporting the delivery of high-quality catering services to residents. The successful candidate will have a catering qualification, food hygiene certification, and at least 1 year of catering experience, demonstrating compassion and commitment to exceptional culinary services.
As a Commis Chef, your primary role will be to assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks. You will work in different areas of the kitchen, such as vegetables, fish and meat, and sauces, usually on a six-month rotation programme. Other responsibilities will include supporting all chefs to manage and deliver all catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained, participating in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree on catering functions across the home and address residents' special needs or dietary requirements, and preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Chefs, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.
