Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre is seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join our expanding Kitchen team. You’ll support daily food prep and service, working under senior chefs to ensure high standards of cooking and presentation.

This is a great opportunity to grow in a forward-thinking, award-winning hotel environment. You should have prior Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef experience, with a passion for quality dishes and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef, ideally in hotel or conference environment.
• Passion for producing high-quality dishes and taking pride in presentation.
• Ability to work confidently on own and as part of a busy team.

Responsibilities

• Assist daily food preparation and service to maintain high cooking and presentation standards.
• Prepare and present dishes as directed by senior chefs and at required times.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy at all times.
• Collaborate with all kitchen sections to ensure efficient service.
• Assist in managing stock levels as directed by senior chefs.
• Be familiar with all menus and allergen information.
• Support in stock rotation and correct storage procedures.
• Contribute to kitchen revenue through effective food cost control.

We are seeking a talented Commis Chef to join our expanding and ambitious Kitchen team here at Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre.

We are looking for someone with a passion for hospitality and over the coming months there will be plenty of scope for the successful candidate to express themselves through various menu developments and projects we have planned.

What you’ll be doing

• Support with the daily preparation and service of food, ensuring that the highest standards of cooking and presentation are maintained.
• Produce food as directed by the senior chefs and to present it at the times required.
• Maintain clean and tidy work areas at all times.
• Work in close liaison with all sections within the Kitchen to ensure an efficient service.
• Support in maintaining appropriate amount of stock levels as directed by senior chefs.
• Be fully conversant with all Restaurant, Bar, Conferencing & Banqueting menus.
• Be fully conversant with allergen information for all menus.
• Assist senior chefs in rotation of stocks and correct storage procedures.
• Contribute to Kitchen revenue through effective food cost control.

About you

We are seeking an individual with previous experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef, ideally gained within a hotel or conference and banqueting environment. You will have a genuine passion for producing high-quality dishes, a creative approach to your work and excellent attention to detail. You should be able to work confidently on your own initiative while also contributing effectively as part of a busy, collaborative team.
