Designation - Commis Chef

Full Time - 40 hours

Salary - £26,000 per annum

Cycas Hospitality is seeking a Commis Chef to join our team in London, Greater London, United Kingdom. This position is pivotal to our success, and we are committed to providing a competitive package that reflects the candidate's skills and responsibilities.

Job Scope

• Under the direction of the Head Chef or the Sous Chef, prepare and serve a range of menu items that meet customers’ expectations. Promotes the desired work culture around our company culture.

Key Job Responsibilities

Assists with the preparation, presentation, decoration, and menu dishes including:

• Meat dishes and meat marinades
• Fish, shellfish, and sauces for fish and shellfish
• Garnishing techniques and methods of service for fish
• Pastry, cakes, and yeast goods
• Petit fours and desserts
• Prepares regional dishes appropriate to the hotel menu, location, and guest mix
• Buffet food
• Communicates to his/her superior any difficulties, guest or internal customer comment, and other relevant information
• Attends and participates in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled
• Prepares in advance food, material, and equipment needed for the service
• Cleans and re-sets his/her working area

Customer Service

• Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards, including:
• being attentive to guests
• accurately and promptly fulfilling guest requests
• understand and anticipate guest needs
• maintain a high level of knowledge to enhance the guest experience
• demonstrate a service attitude that exceeds expectations
• take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints
• Appreciate the dynamic nature of the hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers
• Be able to promote the hotel products and services
• Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge about all Cycas Hospitality hotels and Marriott hotel group in your region

What are we looking for?

• 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a hotel environment
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work in shifts
• Understanding the Hotel / Company standards, products, and services
