Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Commis Chef in London to join our busy corporate kitchen. You will work under the Head Chef and Sous Chef, preparing and presenting fresh dishes while upholding food safety and quality standards.

Dates: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:15pm. You’ll receive £14.87 per hour, free meals on shift, career development opportunities and access to our benefits package as part of joining the Sodexo team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Demi or Commis Chef or in a similar high volume cooking role.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
• Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene legislation.
• Passion for producing exceptional food.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present fresh, high-quality dishes.
• Take ownership of your designated kitchen section.
• Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
• Assist with menu development and seasonal food offers.
• Check deliveries, record temperatures and store stock correctly.
• Monitor food quality, freshness and stock rotation.
• Minimise food waste and support sustainability initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen.
• Complete food safety, HACCP and temperature records.
• Support hospitality events and special functions.
• Mentor and support junior members of the kitchen team.
• Deliver outstanding customer service.
• Follow all food safety, health & safety and company procedures.
