Job summary

El Pastor Restaurant in London Bridge is seeking a Commis Chef to join a fast‑paced kitchen within the El Pastor group. You will support the team, help prepare authentic Mexican dishes, and maintain high standards of taste, quality, and guest care.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Commis Chef or Demi Chef at a fast-paced high quality Restaurant.
• Interest and love for Mexican food and culture.
• Consistently maintain the highest standards and deliver exceptional guest service.
• Be the face of a Group known for its’ warm welcome and guest care.
• Managing and exceeding guest expectations.
• Good knowledge of our menus, ingredients, and allergens.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs in daily kitchen prep and cooking to ensure consistent quality.
• Maintain clean and organized workstation and follow food safety guidelines.
• Support service during peak times to ensure timely guest meals.
• Collaborate with team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

El Pastor is a small group of Mexican taquerias in London, inspired by the decade the founders spent in Mexico City, running a cult nightclub and searching for the city’s best taco al pastor.
We pour our hearts into top quality authentic produce, making fresh tortillas daily using heritage corn and working directly with suppliers and cooperative farmers in Mexico. We are proud to have been awarded a Star by the Sustainable Restaurant Association.
