About The Role

The Bakery & Pastry Commis Chef handles, prepares and supports the daily production of high-quality baked pastries and desserts within the pastry section. The role communicates effectively with senior chefs, follows instructions and contributes to the smooth operation of the pastry kitchen.

The Bakery & Pastry Commis Chef assists in mise en place, basic baking preparation, while developing essential skills in areas such baking and finishing techniques.

Working under the guidance of the Chef de Partie and Pastry Sous Chef, the role is designed to build strong technical foundations while ensuring consistency, quality and attention to detail.

The position collaborates with the Kitchen and Food & Beverage teams, ensuring refined, high-quality pastry products to the hotel F&B outlets in line with five-star luxury standards.

About You

• Experience Previous experience in a kitchen, bakery, or pastry environment is beneficial but not essential.
• Experience in a hotel, bakery, café, or catering environment is advantageous.
• Skills
• Basic knowledge or strong interest in baking and pastry.
• Luxury hospitality experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong desire to learn and develop a career within luxury hospitality
• Good level of written and spoken English
• Flexibility to work varied hours
• Takes pride in own professional grooming
• Ability and resilience to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Pride and attention to detail in your work
• Confidence & professionalism when interacting with high profile guests
• Professional Qualifications Food Safety level 2 / Food Hygiene certification.
