A Day in the Life at hazel

Reporting to the Executive Head Chef & Chef de Cuisine, you can expect your working day to include the following duties:

Preparing ingredients and assisting with food preparation across all kitchen sections.

Ensuring a clean and organised workstation at all times.

Supporting senior chefs in delivering high-quality dishes in line with Hazel's standards.

Receiving and storing deliveries while maintaining hygiene and food safety.

Following instructions and being proactive in learning new skills and kitchen techniques.

The successful applicant for this role will deliver excellent teamwork, have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, be eager to learn, and show a genuine care for the guest experience.

What we need from you!

To succeed in the role of Commis Chef, you will need the following qualities and skills:

A keen interest in food preparation and culinary techniques.

The ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under pressure.

A proactive and flexible approach to assisting the kitchen team.

A willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced kitchen environment.

A team player who thrives in a busy, collaborative setting.

A basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.

Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential – we’ll support the right attitude with the right training.
