Job summary

The Alexander Hotel Collection is seeking a Commis Chef at Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa near East Grinstead. You will join a brigade of 16 chefs and 5 kitchen porters, working across a fresh menu that showcases local ingredients and Rosette-level dishes.

Qualifications

• Quality experience in a fresh food environment
• Desire to learn and create rosette standard dishes from local ingredients
• Ability to work flexible shifts, 40 hours per week over 5 days
• Experience in a quality hotel kitchen
• Team player with contribution to kitchen's success
• Excellent eye for detail and delivery of consistent standards

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of 16 chefs and 5 kitchen porters
• Refer to the menu range on the website for dishes being created
• Flexible shifts covering breakfast, lunch and dinner, including weekends (5 days per week)
• Gain quality experience in a fresh food environment
• Support and contribute to the future success of the kitchen brigade

Requirements

• Quality experience in a fresh food environment
• A desire to gain experience and the passion for learning to create rosette standard dishes from fresh local ingredients.
• Ability to work flexible shifts. 40 hours per week over 5 days
• Experience within a quality hotel kitchen environment.
• Team player with an ability and desire to contribute to the team's success.
• Excellent eye for detail and able to deliver consistent standards.
