Our client is a boutique 3 star hotel, golf and spa resort in Dartmouth, South Devon, with a stunning backdrop of the rolling countryside, water features and calming Devon views. They are looking to recruit an experienced Chef de Partie to join their team, serving dishes using local produce to guests in their bar and bistro.

As well as the restaurant, the hotel also caters for many weddings throughout the year, seating up to 100 guests with views across the golf course. The hotel is also popular with meetings and events for up to 200 covers.

Staff accommodation is available, if required.

What’s involved?

As a Commis Chef at this hotel, it will be your job to support the kitchen team, ensuring that you consistently work to the company’s standards and maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times. You will prepare the ingredients for a more senior chef, measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately, keeping wastage to a minimum. You will also deal with deliveries and stock rotation, maintaining stock levels and recording the temperature of foods.

The Commis Chef will ensure that all food served is properly recorded and presented as per the hotel’s menus and the customer’s requirements.

The successful Commis Chef will ideally have some previous kitchen experience, although further training will be provided. This is the perfect opportunity for someone with basic experience who wants to learn and progress as a chef as there will be development opportunities in the future.
