Title: Commis Chef

Location: Derby, DE21, parking available onsite.

Salary: £21,114 per annum, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7am to 2:30pm

We are recruiting for a commis chef to join our team of 7 working in Derby, you will be supporting site with breakfast, lunch and hospitality requirements in a close kitchen team of 3 chefs.

To be successful in this role you need to hold a passion for food, be a team player and be able to adapt to the pressures of a busy kitchen.

Job Description

• Food Preparation – prepare and cook dishes according to the recipes and standards set by the line manager,ensuring food safety standards are adhered to at all times
• Station Management – oversee the production of all food items assigned to your station and upkeep your designated area with supplies and ensure cleanliness in line with policies and procedures
• Quality Control – maintain high quality standards for all food handled, ensuring presentation and taste is considered at all times
• Team Collaboration – communicate effectively with all other team members and assist/support all colleagues where necessary
• Cleaning and Maintenance – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Commis Chef or display a real passion for food
• Knowledge of some cooking techniques and cuisines
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Works according to the BaxterStorey core values
