Hartwell Ford Hemel Hempstead is seeking a qualified Service Technician to join our dealer team in Hemel Hempstead. The role involves servicing and maintaining a wide range of vehicles across brands, with MOT duties desirable for those with qualification.

You will report to the Service Manager and work within franchised processes while prioritising Health & Safety at work. The successful candidate will mentor apprentices and operate using franchise platforms and digital write ups.

Qualifications

• Must hold an industry recognised Vehicle Technician qualification (level 3 preferred, level 2 considered).
• Experience as a commercial vehicle technician, Ford experience preferred.
• Ability to service and maintain all vehicles and brands.
• Comfortable with franchise platforms and electronic write ups.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and maintenance on all vehicles and brands.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults.
• Perform MOT testing if qualified.
• Complete work via job cards and franchise platforms.
• Conduct EV health checks (EVHCs) and video health checks.
• Guide and support Apprentice Technicians as required.

Are you a successful CV Service Technician or Vehicle Mechanic looking to take the next steps in your career? Hartwell are a leading retail motor group in the UK and have been trading successfully for more than 100 years. Operating across 11 locations.

We are seeking a qualified multi franchise Service Technician to join our dealership in Hemel Hempstead.

TheService Technician will report to the Service Manager and will be responsible for meeting both franchise and company standards in a service environment.

About you:

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with technical knowledge – irrelevant of brand, to work at pace
• A team-player who is comfortable operating with set processes and procedures
• A qualified Vehicle Technician with an industry recognised qualification, ideally level 3 but level 2 will be considered
• Ability to carry out MOT’s is desirable, but not essential as full training will be given
• Motivated, dedicated and organised with a focus on Health & Safety in the workplace
• Be Tech savvy with confidence in using an iPad
• Must have experience as a commercial vehicle Technician (Ford experience preferred)

The Ideal Service Technician:

• The ability to carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles and brands
• Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair, which may include some warranty approved work in line with our brands (subject to experience / training level)
• Be confident in MOT testing duties (if qualified)
• Completing work from job cards and electronic write ups through franchise platforms
• Electronic vehicle health checks (EVHC’s) and video health checks
• Guide and Support Apprentice Technicians as and when required
