Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Commercial Vehicle Technician / Workshop Mechanic in Corby. The role is full-time with a temporary-to-permanent contract, offering £16–£20 hourly rate and a 52-hour week.

You will perform scheduled servicing, routine maintenance, and thorough safety inspections across a varied fleet, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs in a dynamic workshop environment, with immediate starts and a route to long-term stability.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background with experience on light commercial or heavy vehicles.
• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or time‑served equivalent.
• Full UK driving license is essential.
• Able to work independently with good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, routine servicing, and safety inspections.
• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Prepare vehicles to high standards for MOT and compliance testing.
• Maintain clear service and repair documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
