We have a great opportunity for a Commercial Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our Brewers Truck Centre based in Hammonds Drive, Eastbourne which is part of the DAF trucks dealership network providing services and support to various commercial vehicle operators within the Eastbourne and surrounding areas.

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to complete MOT preparation, routine inspections, and services to Manufacturers and IRTEC standards. Our team of six Vehicle Technician/Mechanic provide an essential service for our company vehicles as well as our external customers through our DAF approved workshop. You will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and then completing the repair. Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that you hold a current full UK driving license.

As a Commercial Vehicle Technician with Brewers, some responsibilities will include:

  • Completing services and mechanical repairs to an agreed high standard
  • Preparing and presenting vehicles for Ministry annual testing using the roadworthiness guidance and inspection sheets.
  • Using clear logical thought in the diagnostic process of mechanical and electrical problem solving.
  • Ensuring that all the workshop provided equipment is well maintained, making best use of all resources.
  • Keeping up to date with new technologies and working procedures within the vehicle repair industry.
  • Keeping up to date with trade developments in terms of both product knowledge and legislation.
  • Be part of the rota to respond to out of hours call outs for roadside assistance.
  • Attendance at DAF for product and technical training

Who We Are Looking For To Join The Team

  • Qualified Vehicle Technician / Mechanic and IRTEC registered
  • You will have previous proven experience in a similar role
  • A driver with a Full UK Licence. A Large Goods Driving Licence would also be beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent organisational skills and a forward thinker with the ability to multitask effectively, plan your own workload and work to deadlines
  • A friendly and approachable manner with excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • You will understand the importance of working well as part of a team and be able to positively contribute towards the team environment
