Your role

As a Commercial Underwriter, you will work with selected brokers to optimise profitable growth from these accounts.

You will apply a range of underwriting, relationship management, and business development techniques to both new and existing business within our agreed process and defined underwriting guidelines. Most of your time will be spent working with your broker panel to identify, discuss, negotiate, and make effective underwriting decisions on new and existing business opportunities.

Typically, you will handle cases ranging from £10,000 to £100,000 in premium.

About you

To succeed in this role, ideally, you will have experience in Commercial Underwriting, either within an insurance company or a broking background. We also consider candidates with insurance experience in other lines of business or related fields such as claims or customer service.

You should be capable of building strong relationships with brokers to secure new and existing business opportunities.
