Commercial & Technology Solicitor - Senior / Managing Associate - Surrey
Our client is one of the largest firms in the South outside London and is independently recognised as one of the UK's leading national law firms with top quality clients and excellent work.
Training and knowledge management is first class. Like the firm as a whole, the team environment is friendly, supportive and relaxed and all team members have the opportunity to do interesting and challenging work and to participate in business development, knowledge sharing, training and CSR/pro bono initiatives.
The Role
We are looking for great lawyers to join this renowned Commercial & Technology practice, which includes our prestigious Competition & Regulatory team, with roles at various levels. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly professional, dynamic group currently consisting of 12 lawyers. It is your perfect chance to work outside (but close to) London (and avoid the dreaded commute!), whilst doing a wide variety of high-quality City and International work.
The practice also recognises that lawyers value the ability to work flexibly - they have agile working policies to facilitate flexible working and whilst this is a full-time role, they will consider a minimum of 4 days per week.
The Commercial practice undertakes a very wide range of high-quality commercial, competition and regulatory work. All members of the team advise on commercial contracts, but the team includes specialists dedicating a significant proportion of their time to competition, consumer law, data protection, EU law or franchising matters. The firm is active in all sectors, particularly focusing on insurance, life sciences, retail and technology.
You can expect to get involved in a huge range of work, with a fantastic client list which includes well-known brands, multinationals, FTSE 100 corporates as well as owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs. The team (and the wider firm) has a significant focus on international work and much of what we do has a cross-border dimension.

Qualifications and Experience:
We are looking for strong team players with good interpersonal skills, good academics and high-quality experience – typically with a major City or leading national/regional practice – who have a commercial approach and excellent technical, communication and negotiation skills.
The range of the work undertaken means we can accommodate a variety of experiences and aspirations: you might be a commercial generalist looking to continue this type of work, a commercial lawyer who wishes to develop specialist expertise, or a specialist competition or regulatory lawyer looking to broaden your practice to a wider variety of sectors or work types.
