How you will create an impact

As a Property Underwriter in our P&C team, you will develop risk transfer solutions for mid to large corporate property clients based in the UK Regions. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team and contribute to a growth area with significant influence on AIG’s property portfolio in the Midlands and South-West.

Responsibilities:

• Underwrite new and renewal business to drive profitable growth of our Commercial Property product, working on creative solutions for multi-line mid-market risks.
• Assist in developing our middle market portfolio, building visibility with brokers and clients.
• Collaborate with other areas within AIG to achieve corporate objectives.
• Operate within agreed decision-making standards, authorities, and underwriting guidelines.
• Maintain high underwriting quality standards and achieve satisfactory ratings on reviews.
• Ensure all service standards are met for brokers and internal colleagues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing processes and fostering an environment of initiative and responsibility.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Experience in commercial property underwriting with solid technical insurance knowledge.
• Desire to enhance your technical capabilities, including reinsurance and multinational insurance programs.
• Experience working with regional brokers and a proactive approach to expanding your broker network.
• Ability to understand policy wordings.
• Experience working collaboratively in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Ambition to contribute to the development of AIG’s regional property portfolio in the Midlands and South-West.
