Job summary

Paris Smith LLP in Southampton is seeking a talented Commercial Property Solicitor to join our busy Retail and Leisure Team within the Property Department. The role offers exposure to a wide range of real estate work for national retailers and leisure operators, with opportunities to supervise junior colleagues.

You will manage matters while collaborating with colleagues across practice areas to deliver comprehensive advice on transactions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience across a wide range of real estate work.
• Ability to build strong client relationships with repeat clients.
• Experience supervising junior colleagues and working with other practice areas.
• Ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice with strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and strong organisational ability.
• Positive attitude with drive, enthusiasm and initiative.
• Pride in quality of work and ownership.
• Collaborative team player with firm-wide relationships.
• IT literate with Word and a document management system.
• Interest in AI applications in legal services.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage workload under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Handle landlord and tenant work across varied briefs.
• Draft development agreements and conditional contracts (commercial and mixed-use).
• Manage acquisitions and disposals, and contribute to corporate sales and portfolio transactions.
• Advise businesses, developers and private clients.
• Collaborate with teams across the Property Department and wider firm, contributing to BD.
