Job description

Sellick Partnership is excited to be working with a Legal 500 law firm who are looking for a Commercial Property Solicitor to join their team in Leeds.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Draft, negotiate, and review legal documents such as contracts, leases, agreements for lease, and licences.

  • Conduct due diligence including reviewing title documents, searches, and planning consents.

  • Advise clients on landlord and tenant matters, including lease renewals, rent reviews, and break clauses.

  • Handle acquisitions and disposals of commercial premises, development land, and investment properties.

  • Liaise with clients, developers, local authorities, surveyors, lenders, and other stakeholders.

  • Register transactions with HM Land Registry and ensure compliance with SDLT requirements.

  • Manage risk and ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and regulatory obligations.

  • Provide clear, commercially focused legal advice tailored to client needs.

The successful candidate:

  • 3 + years PQE in commercial property law.

  • Proven track record of managing a broad caseload of commercial property transactions independently.

  • Strong knowledge of property law, land law, landlord and tenant law, and related legislation.

  • Experience handling acquisitions, disposals, leases, and development matters.

  • Ability to draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial property documents.

  • Familiarity with land registration and SDLT procedures.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

  • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.

  • Commercial awareness and ability to deliver practical, business-oriented advice.
