Locum Commercial Property Team Leader – South East Local Authority – Remote – Full Time

Venn Group is working with a well-regarded local authority in the South East in their search for a Commercial Property Team Leader on a locum basis for an initial 3-month role.

Details:
Job Title: Commercial Property Team Leader
Hourly Rate: Up to £70 umbrella per hour (depending on experience)
Length of Contract: 3 months initially with strong potential for further extension
Working Pattern: Full-time – 34 hours per week
Location: Local Authority in the South East
Office Attendance: Fully remote – with office presence once every 2 months preferred

Duties/Responsibilities:
Working as the Commercial Property Team Leader, you will:

• Oversee the commercial property legal function within the authority
• Manage and support a small legal team
• Handle a complex caseload including leases, acquisitions/disposals, landlord and tenant matters
• Provide strategic guidance to ensure effective service delivery

Preferred experience:

• Significant experience in commercial property law
• Local authority or broader public sector legal experience highly desirable
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting
