Job Description:

PLO required for a large public sector organisation based in the Northern Ireland Civil Service.

Location: Belfast

Hours: 8am - 6pm (core hours 10am - 4pm)

Duration: Up to 12 months

Job Summary:

  • Provision of legal advice and services, in a public law context, acting on behalf of Departmental clients in commercial property transactions, completing title due diligence, and drafting contract and property transfer documentation. This includes drafting and negotiating commercial leases, agreements for lease, commercial development agreements, and ancillary construction documentation.
  • Advising client Departments on the Business Tenancies (NI) Order 1996 and representing clients at the Lands Tribunal for NI. Providing advice on vesting and other property matters.
  • Building effective client relationships and understanding client needs and priorities.
  • Supporting the Assistant Director in delivering and planning the team’s work.
  • Undertaking case management, time recording, and quality assurance procedures regularly.
  • Participating in team activities, including briefs, one-on-one meetings, and training to develop professional skills and knowledge.
  • Qualifications: Qualified solicitor or barrister, entitled to practice in NI, with 5 or more years post-qualification experience.
