Job Description:
  • Commercial Property Asset Manager
  • Assets: Central London Offices

Madison Berkeley has partnered with a privately-owned property investment and asset management company seeking a Commercial Property Asset Manager to join its small and dynamic team in Central London. The company manages a UK-wide commercial property portfolio valued at approximately £300 million, with a core focus on Central London office assets.

This is an opportunity for someone with 3–4 years of commercial property experience, ideally MRICS or working towards it, but not essential. The role offers a chance to broaden responsibilities and gain exposure across both property and asset management.

About the Role

This role primarily focuses on property management, with opportunities to take on asset management duties over time. It is suited for a proactive, generalist professional eager to assume more responsibility in a hands-on environment.

With the current Property Manager stepping down after over 20 years, the role is evolving to suit a more commercially focused professional. An external consultancy will handle statutory compliance (fire, health & safety, etc.), allowing this role to concentrate on core property and asset responsibilities.

  • Approximately 13 commercial assets (mainly offices), including:
  • Central London locations such as Moorgate and Cavendish Square
  • One asset in Glasgow and one in Sheffield
  • Several ongoing refurbishments, including listed buildings and floor-by-floor upgrades
  • One disposal expected later this year

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of the commercial property portfolio
  • Service charge budgeting, lease compliance, rent collection, and tenant liaison
  • Coordination with agents, consultants, and contractors
  • Site visits and property inspections (primarily London, occasional UK travel)
  • Supporting asset management initiatives including lettings, refurbishments, and investment reviews

Candidate Profile

  • 3–4 years’ experience in commercial property (ideally MRICS qualified or on the pathway)
  • Strong understanding of property management fundamentals and landlord/tenant matters
  • Proactive, adaptable, and confident working across a range of responsibilities
  • Clear communicator, highly organised, and commercially aware
  • Comfortable working independently in a small team setting

The Offer

  • Bonus: Discretionary, annually
  • Benefits: 25 days annual leave + pension
