Job title: Commercial Projects Senior Solicitor

Location: Oxford

Salary: £78,000-£90,000+

PQE Level: 7+ PQE

Working Hours: Full-time

A top-tier national law firm is seeking a commercially astute Senior Associate to join its growing Projects team. This is a rare opportunity to work on high-profile, nationally significant matters across a range of sectors, including defence, health, local government, and broader public-private partnerships.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and well-regarded team advising government departments, contracting authorities, and private sector clients on complex commercial contracts. The work spans the full lifecycle of major projects, with a particular focus on strategic procurement, contract structuring, and PFI expiry/variation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage high-value commercial projects across a range of sectors.
  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex contractual arrangements, including financial and technical schedules.
  • Support major procurements, particularly within the defence sector.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to client training programmes.
  • Participate in business development initiatives, including tenders, pitches, and client events.
  • Optionally develop expertise in public procurement law.
