Job Description

In a time when Digital and IT capabilities drive innovation, this role supports meaningful impact on current and future defence operations. Through the implementation of commercial and procurement best practice, you will contribute to our client’s digital journeys, digital transformation programmes, and responses to evolving cyber threats.

Owing to the diverse portfolio of clients, no two roles are the same. You can expect to perform some or all of the following responsibilities:

About you / Experience and Skills

As a candidate, you will have commercial/procurement experience from a relevant sector and want to contribute to delivering world-class outcomes for Defence clients with Digital and IT requirements. We value diverse backgrounds and aim to find people equally passionate about making a difference.

Experience and Skills:

  • Experience procuring within the IT category (hardware, software, cloud/IT infrastructure, DevOps or other digital goods/services)
  • Applied knowledge of procurement principles and practices with experience in procurement, contract management and/or sourcing
  • Developing and assuring business cases, contracting approaches, commercial strategies and other artefacts
  • Ability to identify and manage risk through procurement/commercial tools and strategies
  • Experience preparing and executing negotiation strategies to achieve positive outcomes
  • Monitoring supplier performance to maximise value and drive innovation
  • Understanding key stakeholder drivers to determine priorities and outcomes

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience procuring within the IT category (hardware, software, cloud/IT infrastructure, DevOps or other digital goods/services)
  • Experience negotiating or managing ancillary IT agreements (support services, licensing, obsolescence management, etc.)
  • Experience procuring innovative technologies/solutions via collaborative or agile delivery
  • Experience managing intellectual property and related agreements
  • Background in Government Procurement processes (Single Source/Competitive)
  • Experience understanding IT supply markets and private-sector capabilities

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification in Business, Procurement/Supply Chain Management, Law, Project Management, or equivalent experience
  • Training or experience in Defence and Security Public Contracting Regulations (DSPCR), Public Contract Regulations (PCR) and/or the Procurement Act 2023
Additional Information

Working in teams/site attendance: Turner & Townsend supports hybrid working. You are expected to be on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices approximately 60% of the time, adjustable to business needs. The office is a place for collaboration and learning.
