The Purpose
In this role, the Commercial Pricing & Insights Analyst will work closely with stakeholders across the club to identify key challenges and opportunities—using data to uncover actionable pricing insights that support the growth of Manchester United’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) and Venue businesses. This includes a wide range of products and touchpoints such as eCommerce, Membership, MUTV, ticketing, hospitality, and our digital platforms (web and app).
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Commercial Pricing Analyst. The successful candidate will be predominately responsible for pricing analysing and market trends, evaluating pricing strategies, and supporting data-driven decisions to optimise pricing, drive profitability, and maintain competitiveness. The role will also cover other elements of Commercial analysis and insights.
The Role
- Analyse data and trends to develop pricing models and recommendations.
- Evaluate current pricing strategies and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor competitor pricing and market dynamics to inform pricing decisions.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, and product teams to align strategies with business goals.
- Support the development and implementation of dynamic pricing tools and systems.
- Create and present reports and dashboards for leadership.
- Participate in pricing strategy development for promotions, discounts, and new product launches.
- Ensure pricing compliance across regions and customer segments.
The Person
- Strong understanding of the sports & entertainment industry, including teams, venues, fans, and commercial models
- Proven ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects with excellent organisation and prioritisation
- Strategic thinker with a track record of using data to drive revenue, efficiency, and fan engagement
- Skilled in analysing complex datasets (demographic, behavioural, transactional)
- Experienced in turning insights into clear, actionable recommendations
- Confident communicator—able to present complex ideas to non-technical audiences
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI; hands-on with Adobe/Google Analytics
- Successful cross-functional collaborator across marketing, sales, content, partnerships, and D2C
- Experience in insights, pricing, or data roles within sport or consumer-focused industries
- Self-starter with a hands-on, problem-solving, and adaptable mindset
- Curious, proactive, and always looking for improvement
- Strong time management and ability to handle competing demands
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
