Job description

We're currently seeking experienced and ambitious Commercial Practitioner/Commercial Officer professionals to work with our client in a secure environment, supporting challenging projects.

This contract role requires security clearance prior to assignment. Opportunities are available in Manchester.

You will work across internal projects and teams, cultivating relationships, determining workflows, and creating commercial solutions. You will also support commercial activities through policy creation, audits, and data analysis to drive decision-making. Unique projects will showcase your skills.

You should demonstrate responsiveness, efficiency, and professionalism, supporting team members at all levels and working closely with customers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. You will oversee contract delivery, monitor KPIs, and drive cost reductions. Your role involves tendering, contract management, and applying high commercial standards, requiring influencing, negotiation, and operational skills.

People skills are essential for mentoring and knowledge sharing. An enthusiastic approach to problem-solving and opportunity identification is also required.

Your qualifications, experience, skills, and behaviors include:

  • Experience in procurement, supplier management, contract management, sourcing, commercial operations, supply chain, invoicing
  • Strong relationships with customers, suppliers, colleagues
  • Knowledge of category management for efficiencies and reductions
  • Ability to prioritize amidst complex activities

Ideally, you also have experience in purchasing, bill management, and contract creation, especially in technology or digital environments.

You should:

  • Hold or be willing to attain a professional qualification like CIPS Level 5
