Job description

We're currently seeking experienced and ambitious Commercial Practitioner/Commercial Officer professionals to work with our client in a secure environment, supporting challenging and rewarding projects.

These contract roles require security clearance prior to assignment. Opportunities are available in Cheltenham.

You will work across various internal projects and teams, cultivating relationships, determining workflows, creating commercial solutions, and ensuring the optimisation of commercial activities through policy creation, audits, and data analysis. You will have the chance to showcase your skills on unique projects.

Demonstrating responsiveness, efficiency, and professionalism is essential. You will support team members at all levels, facilitate the fulfilment of goods and services, oversee contract delivery, monitor KPIs, and drive cost reductions. Your role will involve tendering, contract management, and employing high standards of commercial practice. Strong influencing, negotiation, and operational skills are required.

People skills are vital; you'll mentor others, share knowledge, and approach challenges enthusiastically, seeking solutions and new opportunities to enhance customer offerings.

Your qualifications, experience, skills, and behaviors should include:

  • Experience in procurement, supplier management, contract management, sourcing, commercial operations, supply chain, or invoicing
  • Strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
  • Knowledge of category management for efficiencies and cost reductions

Ideally, you will also have experience in purchasing, bill management, and contract creation & management, especially in technology or digital sectors.

You should:

  • Be willing to attain a professional qualification such as CIPS Level 5 or equivalent
