Job summary

QinetiQ, a leading UK defence technology company, invites applications for a Commercial Portfolio Lead at our Farnborough site to drive commercial leadership across the Maritime & Land portfolio. You will design and implement a portfolio-wide commercial strategy and oversee governance of complex proposals.

Essential experience includes at least 5 years in commercial management, a degree, and MCIPS/WCC status. The role requires strategic relationships and influence up to the executive level.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years practical experience in a Commercial management/leadership role.
• Ideally from the Defence, Aerospace or Marine industries.
• Degree educated.
• WCC Member status or higher OR MCIPS qualified.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a commercial engagement strategy for the portfolio which interacts with the portfolio and business strategy (on a 3-5yr planning horizon)
• Lead on key / strategic relationships inside and outside the business
• Accountable for commercial governance on proposals and contracts which may be non-standard, of medium to high complexity
• A leader in negotiation strategy and planning, capable of influencing up to executive committee level

The Role

As a Commercial Portfolio Lead, you will become an integral member of a dynamic Commercial function, providing commercial leadership and oversight in relation to areas of the Maritime & Land Business that transcend the business units. Day-to-day, you will oversee multi-disciplined Integrated Delivery Teams as required in accordance with the established business strategy and shall design and implement local commercial strategy. This commercial strategy should include reference to people, processes and tools, for each line of business in the portfolio. Your responsibilities will include:

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough facility with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
