About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and commercially mindedPlanning Solicitor (35 PQE)to join our clients growing legal team. This is a hybrid role, with just one day per week required in the Sheffield office. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in planning law and be confident managing their own caseload from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic legal advice on all aspects of town and country planning law Draft and negotiate Section 106 agreements, infrastructure agreements, and CIL matters Handle planning appeals, inquiries, and judicial reviews Advise on environmental and highways law as it relates to planning matters Support commercial and residential development teams with planning risk assessments and due diligence Liaise effectively with local authorities, consultants, and external counsel Stay abreast of legislative developments and policy changes

Requirements

Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 35 years' post-qualification experience in planning law Able to manage a full caseload independently Strong understanding of the commercial realities facing developers and local authorities Experience advising clients in both the private and public sectors Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client management skills Comfortable working autonomously within a hybrid model
