Job summary

CMS2 in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Commercial Officer to support delivery teams, manage commercial risk, and ensure contractual obligations are met. You will draft, negotiate and manage various agreements in line with CMS2 processes while advising project managers on commercial aspects.

Role involves customer-facing activities, contract handover, and maintaining contract records. Occasional travel within the UK may be required; right to live and work in the UK and SC clearance

Qualifications

• Typically around 3 years experience in a commercial role.
• Able to negotiate face to face with customers.
• Risk management and interpretation of contract terms.
• Strong understanding of legal terms and ability to draft.
• Knowledge of MoD commercial practises incl. DEFCONS.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and manage commercial agreements per CMS2 processes.
• Provide contract management support to project teams.
• Develop procedures for contract administration in line with policy.
• Support contract handover and obligation tracking for delivery teams.
• Act as main contact for customers on contractual matters and changes.
