Job description

We are seeking a Commercial Officer to provide commercial support delivering professional and effective contract services.

You will work closely with project colleagues to deliver commercial aspects of acquisition programme objectives, managing stakeholders in the commercial sector, including input into Frameworks.

Location: Swindon, 2 days onsite per week, 3 days remote.

Key accountabilities:
  1. Compile, issue, and evaluate tenders, collaborating with the wider Commercial Team to ensure best practices and innovative approaches.
  2. Provide commercial advice and guidance, ensuring procurement activities offer best value and comply with HMG policies and regulations.
  3. Manage tender processes and contract evaluations.
Skills and Experience:
  • Proven contract management experience, including handling contract expiry and re-procurement.
  • Experience in the defence sector.
  • Ability to analyze complex data related to intellectual property and TUPE considerations.
  • Familiarity with PFI contracts, especially in facilities management.
  • Capacity to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Solid knowledge of commercial practices, contract management, and supplier performance.
