Qualifications

• Experience in commercial/procurement roles within the UK Defence sector.

• Ability to lead end-to-end tender processes and prepare procurement documentation.
• Excellent commercial/financial acumen and tender evaluation.
• MCIPS Level 4 qualification, or actively working towards it.

Job description

This full-time Commercial Manager (SC Cleared) post in Surrey offers £600–£640 daily through Network IT. The successful candidate supplies commercial and procurement expertise across a varied portfolio of military third parties and associates. Duties include leading end-to-end tender processes, advising on contracts, nurturing supplier relationships and overseeing several procurements at once. Sound judgement, strong stakeholder management and defence sector experience are essential, since the post sits within UK Defence. Applicants must hold current SC clearance. Accuracy, pace and integrity underpin all procurement work delivered in this position.

Network IT Recruitment is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to provide expert commercial and procurement support across a diverse portfolio of military third parties and associates. You’ll play a key role in delivering agile, compliant procurement activity while developing and maintaining a strong supplier network. This is a fast paced role requiring sound commercial judgement, excellent stakeholder management and the ability to manage multiple procurements simultaneously. You’ll lead end to end tender processes, provide specialist commercial advice, support contract and supplier management, and ensure procurement activity is delivered with accuracy, pace and integrity.

Please note, this role will be working in the UK Defence sector, so experience in this area is non-negotiable for us. It is an SC Cleared role.

Key skills and experience:

• Extensive experience in commercial / procurement roles, within the UK Defence sector
• Strong knowledge of public sector procurement, including PCR and DSPCR
• Proven experience developing tender, contract and procurement documentation
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including tender evaluation and supplier financial assessment
• Experience managing supplier relationships, market development and supply chain risk
• Ability to manage multiple procurements concurrently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the confidence to advise at senior level
• Experience developing sourcing strategies, commercial options and procurement plans
• Strong understanding of contract change and commercial risk management
• Experience using procurement / e-procurement systems, ideally Jaggaer/Bravo
• Working knowledge of UK Defence operational and procurement processes
• Full MCIPS Level 4 qualification, or actively working towards it
• Excellent IT skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
