Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Barrow/NW

Type: Permanent

Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our team on a project based on site in Barrow. You will manage the project commercial team, advise on risks and opportunities, and support contract reviews. This is a permanent position with NG Bailey, with a project duration of approximately 2 years, with potential for further work.

We are also considering candidates at Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

Note: Candidates must be able to obtain security clearance; only British nationals considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote safety in all activities.
• Ensure accuracy of risk and opportunity schedules, identify measures to protect the company, and improve profitability.
• Manage mitigation implementation and report outcomes.
• Lead the commercial team, maximizing potential.
• Build relationships with clients, suppliers, and vendors; negotiate contract terms and final accounts.
• Attend contract reviews, ensure cost accuracy and forecast integrity.
• Assist with business plans and management accounts, maintain records to manage disputes.
• Monitor commercial performance and manage project commercial staff.
• Prepare commercial plans and communicate obligations and risks.
• Handle payment applications and ensure timely receipt.
• Manage subcontracts, including terms and conditions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in managing construction project commercial performance.
• Experience with NEC contracts preferred.
• Experience in managing a team.
