Interim QS/Commercial Manager (Change Lead) – Infrastructure | £500-£600/day | Outside IR35 | London | 6 Months
We’re hiring for a driven and experienced Commercial Manager (or Senior Commercial Manager) to take a lead role in Change Management on a major infrastructure programme in London.
This role is perfect for a commercial professional with a quantity surveying background, excellent working knowledge of NEC3 Option C, and experience managing complex change, value engineering and cost mitigation in large-scale infrastructure or MEP-heavy environments.
Lead the commercial management of change, value engineering, and optioneering
Manage compensation events, entitlement, and NEC3 contract administration
Collaborate with construction and technical teams to drive commercially viable outcomes
Liaise with the client and ensure upstream agreement on all commercial change items
Lead change forums, risk reduction meetings, and commercial reporting
Develop metrics, dashboards, and cost control processes for change activities
Provide contractual advice, manage communications, and maintain full governance compliance
Degree-qualified in quantity surveying or commercial management
Experience on major infrastructure and MEP-heavy projects
Deep understanding of NEC3 contracts, especially Option C
Strong change management, cost forecasting, and reporting skills
Excellent communication and negotiation ability with internal and external stakeholders
Commercially astute, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
Experience in claims, dispute resolution, and UK contract law
Collaborative and adaptable mindset with the ability to lead junior team members
