Job summary

NG Bailey Group is seeking a Commercial Manager in a hybrid role based in the UK, leading the commercial team from tender to completion. You will manage NEC3/4 contracts, drive risk and opportunity analysis, and ensure alignment with financial and contractual obligations.

The role requires substantial experience in project commercial performance, strong contract form knowledge, and proven leadership, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage NEC3/4 and bespoke contracts across multiple projects.
• Lead and develop the Commercial Team, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Identify and notify Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Oversee supply chain contracts and agreements.
• Provide accurate cash flow forecasts and manage financial performance.
• Establish and manage monthly project reviews.
• Ensure projects align with financial plans and contractual obligations.
• Handle disputes and defects processes with clients and subcontractors.
• Manage invoicing and overdue applications or debts.
• Oversee quotation approvals and ensure contract orders are in place.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQ), measurements, and valuations for applications and final accounts.
• Maintain control of subcontractor accounts and minimize variation costs.
• Develop a monthly senior project review process with the Senior Commercial Manager.
• Assist with pre-tender reviews and attend client progress meetings.
• Communicate effectively across all levels and foster teamwork.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Contribute innovative ideas for continuous improvement and cost‑effective solutions.

• Experience in Civil Engineering and Construction projects.
• Background in managing volume‑based projects.
