Job Description

Position: Commercial Manager

Location: Hinkley Point

Salary: £83k - £90k + Accommodation, Travel, and Expenses

An exciting construction company is undertaking a mechanical scope on Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station, including integral fabrication and installation work for the reactor building. They are looking for a Commercial Manager to join the team on this major UK construction project.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage, lead, and mentor the Commercial Team, maintaining high standards and clear objectives.
  2. Maintain standard operating procedures in line with company policies and contribute to their continuous improvement.
  3. Ensure robust financial governance and lead on commercial matters, performance reporting, and contract management.
  4. Prepare monthly budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and cost reconciliation reports, analyzing P&L against forecasts.
  5. Implement project commercial and contract strategies; guide project teams on cost control, contract administration, and risk management.
  6. Monitor and report on strategic and operational risks, ensuring effective risk management across projects.
  7. Manage claims from notification to closure, engaging with external parties as needed.
  8. Review contractor and supplier payment certificates and prepare payment recommendations.
Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in mechanical fabrication, particularly stainless steel and mechanical equipment.
  • Experience reviewing work packages, scope, activity lists, and manhours.
  • Minimum of 4 years of commercial management experience in large project environments.
  • Immediately available to start work.
  • Experience in nuclear projects is preferable but not necessary.
