Job description

Commercial Manager (Food) South Wales


The Role:

This Commercial Manager role offers you the opportunity to further grow market share and profitability, of a dynamic, innovative and entrepreneurial food business which is in great shape, by developing further business with existing customers and securing new business and new channels within the food sector.

In addition, you will identify and develop new business opportunities by working closely with NPD, Finance, Buyers and the wider internal teams; collectively driving the growth agenda, whilst building and nurturing collaborative and professional working relationships.

Existing business will continue to be serviced to the highest standards, where you will coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring excellent services are offered and driving high standards beyond expectation.

Within the scope of this role, you will take full ownership of developing new business and growing existing business; developing and implementing a comprehensive commercial strategy which aligns with organisational goals, maximises profitability and drives sustainable growth; whilst continuously looking for ways to improve commercial processes and increase efficiency.

About You:

Essentially you must have a good level of experience and a demonstrable performance track record as an Account Manager, National Account Manager (NAM) or Senior National Account Manager (SNAM); or a Customer-facing Commercial Manager, ideally in the Food or Beverages sector.

You must have a good understanding of category management, consumer and marketing KPIs, costings, margins, and promotions, and demonstrate an understanding of how commercial decisions impact the P&L.

Without a doubt, you must have a genuine passion for delivering the highest customer service levels, coupled with a natural commercial acumen, strong commercial and negotiation skills, analytical with an eye for detail and be a great ambassador for the business.

This role is based from offices based in South Wales, typically 3 days a week.
