Role Description
We are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Commercial Drinks team at Princes on a 12-month FTC. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with an excellent understanding of market trends, customer needs, and driving profitability.
- Implement the strategy to deliver profit and loss targets for the sector by identifying and prioritizing actions to maximize financial performance.
- Determine and implement the strategy for customer own brand contracts within the category, including negotiations, future range, and SKU assortments.
- Establish and agree on guidelines for contract negotiations for COB discussions, collaborating with brand and revenue growth management teams to maximize profitability.
- Create, publish, and implement comprehensive sector management strategies and lead cross-functional teams in delivery.
- Provide actionable competitor insights in conjunction with the Insights team.
- Contribute sector input into the Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) process.
- Act as a consultative partner, demonstrating sector knowledge and providing insights to support broader business strategy.

Role Requirements
Principal Responsibilities
- Deliver business KPIs in volume, turnover, and profitability.
- Prepare the sector business plan with full P&L responsibility.
- Own and execute the prioritized action plan to maximize financial performance.
- Sign off on negotiation guidelines for brand and customer own brand negotiations.
- Lead planning for annual COB tenders and support sales negotiations for profitability.
- Represent the category internally and externally as an expert.
- Prepare and deliver customer presentations and sector plans.
- Collaborate with innovation and procurement to explore cost mitigation and value engineering opportunities.
- Monitor, report on, and counter competitor activities within the category.
- Negotiate to obtain the lowest total cost of ownership.
- Conduct reviews with stakeholders and report on initiatives.
- Monitor customer profitability and address significant variances.
- Liaise with internal departments for smooth sector operations.
- Develop product ranges for customer own brand contracts, managing SKU portfolio.
- Resolve problems ethically and professionally, protecting long-term interests.
- Support other departments to achieve stakeholder satisfaction.
