Job Description: Commercial Manager - Contract and Supplier Manager - Technology - Hybrid, Brighton - Permanent


Are you looking for a new job opportunity in Central Government with hybrid working? This might be of interest to you!


One of our clients is looking for an experienced Technology Commercial, Supplier, and Contract Manager to join them in a permanent capacity. Based in Brighton, they need someone who can go onsite 6 days per month.


The salary on offer for this role is between £55,000 - £60,000 per annum.


Skills and Experience Required:
  1. Commercial Management experience - extensive knowledge and experience of the commercial life cycle.
  2. Supplier management and contract management experience.
  3. Background in technology contracts within the tech space.
  4. Self-starter who can hit the ground running - this person will own this area and make something of the role.
  5. Experienced manager who has led teams and can deliver within the public sector.
  6. Roadmap management: Experience of creating and delivering a long-term commercial roadmap for the technology function.
  7. Understanding of using 3rd parties to deliver technology programmes, as well as key technology considerations.
  8. Ability to work with very technically knowledgeable people and disseminate the outputs to non-technical business areas.
  9. Supplier Relationship and Contract Management: comprehensive understanding and experience of managing suppliers including supplier performance, service levels, development, benchmarking, role of cost drivers in the supply chain, and understanding of sub-contract markets.
  10. Commercial acumen: sound understanding of economic factors impacting market sectors and approaches to minimise cost pressures and reduce commercial risk combined with the ability to understand contracts, identify key supplier responsibilities, and leverage value.
  11. Negotiation: Proven track record of delivering savings through optimising commercial solutions whilst maintaining credibility and a long-term supplier relationship.
  12. Stakeholder Management: experience of liaising, consulting, and meeting with key stakeholders to understand business drivers and short-, medium-, and long-term goals.
  13. Project Management: knowledge and experience of designing, planning, and implementing successful procurement projects (Desirable).
  14. Entrepreneurship: identify opportunities; balance risks and benefits and take appropriate actions to deliver the most beneficial outcomes (Desirable).
