Job summary

SRT Marine Systems plc in the UK is seeking a seasoned Cost and Commercial Manager to lead commercial activities for infrastructure and civils projects with multiple subcontractors. You will drive cost reporting, contract strategy, and value optimization across packages in a global maritime technology environment.

This role requires leadership in procurement, change management, and final accounts, with occasional overseas travel.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Significant commercial management experience within infrastructure, civil engineering or major construction projects.
• Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and work packages simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Take overall commercial and performance responsibility for multiple subcontract packages across infrastructure and civils projects, from procurement and contract award through to final account.
• Maintain accurate cost reports and provide consolidated commercial reporting for the project.
• Establish clear commercial strategies for each subcontract package, aligned with the overall project budget and delivery strategy.
• Lead and support subcontract negotiations to achieve best value and appropriate risk allocation.
• Review and commercially evaluate subcontractor tenders and quotations, undertake tender comparisons and identify anomalies.
• Monitor subcontractor performance against cost, programme and contractual obligations, and manage commercial issues.
• Lead the preparation, negotiation and settlement of subcontractor final accounts.
