A day in the life of a Murphy Commercial Manager
  1. Manage all commercial aspects of the project and maintain regular liaison with all stakeholders.
  2. Conduct monthly cost and value reconciliation reviews.
  3. Manage project contractual changes, including variations, contractor’s claims, and the early warning process.
  4. In conjunction with the Project Director, manage the project risk register and ensure mitigation measures are reviewed and implemented in a timely manner.
  5. Manage and support the project commercial team daily.
  6. Oversee project procurement, ensuring commercially advantageous procurement for the business.
  7. Maximize cash position, including WIP control, cash flow production, and improvement plans.
  8. Manage contractor’s costs weekly, ensuring full understanding of all costs and relaying cost performance information to the construction team to improve estimated final margin.
  9. Assist in managing the programme along with the Project Director and Planning Manager.
  10. Seek to continually improve project performance commercially, including margin improvement, change control capture, and risk avoidance.
  11. Manage project controls including value, cost, production, and supply chain.
