About the Company

A well-established Principal Contractor delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the North East is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager. With a strong pipeline of works and a growing reputation for quality and reliability, they are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join their team and take ownership of the commercial delivery across multiple projects.

About the Role

As Commercial Manager, your role will include:

• Leading all commercial aspects of civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to final account.
• Overseeing the preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.
• Administering NEC3 and NEC4 contracts with a high level of competence and confidence.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements.
• Preparing and submitting applications for payment, valuations, and managing change control.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities across multiple live sites.
• Reporting commercial performance to senior leadership and advising on cost strategies.
• Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff as required.

Responsibilities

• Proven track record as a Commercial Manager within the civil engineering or construction sector.
• Essential experience with NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract.
• Strong understanding of commercial processes, contract law, and cost control.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with project teams.
• Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
