Job description

We have an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Manager based in Rosyth.

The successful Candidate should have experience in contract management and procurement and have a NEC4 Engineering and construction background in the defence industry.

This can be worked on a hybrid / partly remote basis, with travelling to Site when needed
(at least 3 days per fortnight)

The role requires existing SC level security clearance. Candidates should possess a sole British Passport and not have worked outside the UK for the past 5 years.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Commercial Manager will determine appropriate commercial actions for requirements, which will include supply market analysis, draft strategy plans, contract management plans and facilitate key aspects of the delivery.

All contracts must adhere to procurement regulations and policies

You will lead or assist in identification and collation of supplier data to inform supplier deep dives, supplier strategies and roadmaps as well as the portfolio management of requirements and contracts that vary in complexity and risk.

Ensure contract obligations are met in line with the contract and business requirements

Draft Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Invitation to Tender and contract documentation and support negotiations of terms and pricing amendments in accordance with company policy.

Lead or Support negotiations and contract placement and highlight any issues to Senior Commercial Officer

The successful Candidate will possess excellent communications kills to communicate in a timely manner with a range of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.

Carry out assurance and due diligence of commercial activity to provide confidence in commercial outcomes.

Provide support and assistance to commercial enabling teams to assist project delivery.

Assist with the wider Commercial function as required

Contract Management of a portfolio of contracts (supplier performance management)
Build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
Preparation of tender documentation
Commercial Strategy for a new infrastructure project
Contract Management Plan & Obligations Matrix
Evaluation of supplier proposals
Support to negotiations where required
Carry out monthly checks on monthly cost statements for single source awarded contract(s)
Contract Management of a portfolio of contracts
Monthly Reports to be submitted to the Delivery Manager
