Job Description

The Commercial Manager will be:-

  • Playing a pivotal role within the Future Products team, operating at both strategic and tactical levels to create fit-for-purpose commercial models and guidance across a diverse portfolio of campaigns and programmes.
  • Leading complex negotiations, crafting competitive pricing and business-winning strategies, and securing approvals up to senior board level.
  • Providing hands-on leadership in resolving challenging commercial and contractual matters, ensuring risks and opportunities are balanced effectively.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, external customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Helping shape and develop the wider Commercial function across both the maritime and land defence business areas, contributing to long-term growth and capability.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Commercial Manager will have a:-

  • Proven track record in senior commercial roles within the military or defence sector.
  • Strong grasp of commercial principles, techniques, and practices, and how they underpin organisational success.
  • Solid understanding of contract law, defence conditions, and the ability to negotiate terms effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, collaborative environment, engaging with diverse teams.
