Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Award-Winning Subcontractor. As a market leader in the industry, we are seeking a driven professional with solid experience of managing the commercial aspects of construction projects. In this key role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the profitability and successful delivery of our projects, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Partner with the Divisional Director and Project Teams to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery that meets company and subcontractor requirements.
2. Conduct detailed reviews from tender through to project completion, ensuring entitlement and compliance with contract terms.
3. Manage monthly payment applications in line with contract deadlines.
4. Oversee the issuance, review, and approval of monthly payment certificates, coordinating closely with the Accounts team.
5. Drive the timely finalization of accounts within contractual limits.
6. Prepare and present monthly Cost-Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.
7. Assess and communicate the impact of variations, ensuring timely notice issuance as per contract.
8. Manage subcontractor accounts, including issuing payment certificates and payless notices within agreed timeframes.
9. Mitigate business risks by strategically placing subcontract purchase orders.

This role is based in our Ringwood office, with travel and overnight stays required as per project needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Proven experience in a senior commercial role with significant project management responsibilities.
2. Strong contractual and commercial expertise.
3. In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, with a focus on NEC contracts.
4. Demonstrated experience in procuring specialist packages.
5. Valid driver's license.
