Project Commercial Lead - M&E Package (Major Project)

Are you a seasoned commercial professional with expertise in managing high-value M&E packages on major commercial construction projects? We're looking for a driven and detail-focused Project Commercial Lead to oversee all commercial aspects of a complex Mechanical & Electrical subcontract package on a landmark GBP40m, 10-storey shell & core office development.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in a high-profile project, working for a reputable main contractor or consultancy supporting a major commercial scheme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the commercial management of the full M&E subcontract package from procurement through to final account
  • Administer subcontractor contracts, valuations, variations, and payment applications
  • Collaborate closely with the wider commercial, project, and design teams to ensure alignment on costs, programme, and delivery
  • Monitor cost plans and forecasts, ensuring robust cost control throughout the M&E installation phase
  • Contribute to risk, value engineering, and change management processes related to the M&E scope
  • Support project reporting and attend key progress and commercial meetings
  • Maintain full compliance with contractual and financial procedures and frameworks
  • Act as the key interface with the M&E supply chain and ESG stakeholders
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management roles
  • Proven background managing M&E packages on large-scale commercial construction projects (GBP20m+)
  • Familiar with shell & core CAT A delivery in a high-rise / multi-storey context
  • In-depth understanding of NEC / JCT contracts
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills across stakeholders
  • Experience working for or closely with M&E subcontractors or in main contractor environments
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar
  • RICS accreditation desirable but not essential
